What we see here is a look at a broken future where corrupt officials have kidnapped the government from the people, fracturing the populace into disgruntled separatists. Don't expect the playful heroes and bright colors. The game itself is based wholly off of real world fiction and real world weaponry. That comparison is mainly to get the tactical turn-based nature across. Don't get me wrong here, there are a lot of differences between the two. The best comparison to a popular game I can think of for PopTop's Shattered Union is probably Advance Wars. Shattered Union sets the future fragmented remnants of the once mighty United States against each other in a pitched conflict to conquer and control territory. Their latest takes them away from the economy side of strategy and almost entirely towards tactical warfare. They're always a developer I'm interested in seeing more games from. Tropico and Railroad Tycoon 3 are among the few that I've enjoyed in the last few years. PopTop Software has made some very good games in their existence.
